As architects, our design focus was on the bar space, including back bar, bar counter, as well as interior and exterior wall paneling, indoor and outdoor seating area and outdoor canopy. Inside, the wall and ceiling treatment are wood panels, on the bar, these panels are blackened from being burnt. The same treatment is mimicked on the exterior, flanking the storefront glazing that dominants the simple, yet industrial facade. Out back, an outdoor seating area is sheltered by a custom designed canopy with all aluminum structure and acrylic panels. The canopy transitions from the finished deck space into the more relaxed gravel seating area, providing shelter and strung with lights that bounce and reflect on the modern material. The design aesthetic for Person Street bar blends the indoors and outdoors, using a simple materials of wood, charred wood, and aluminum to bring the feel of this neighborhood bar into the 21st century.
